Starlizard is a sports betting consultancy agency, providing analytics and technology services to the sports betting sector.
Lacerta Sports was founded as a standalone entity by a team from Starlizard to provide sportsbook solutions to partners in the industry and they reached out to Digital Playmakers to help brand this new venture. The deliverables included:
When visualising the brand the main values were to be taken into consideration. Which included: integrity, fun, data-driven, accuracy, reliability and trustworthiness.
When building a brand from scratch, it is really important to understand the client’s internal views and opinions on how they see the brand developing.
Branding is subjective by nature, therefore drawing the ideas and visions of all internal team members can be difficult initially but it is exceptionally fruitful when done successfully.
The key to success here is to agree on a set of brand values, ideas and exemplar designs/brands.
Briefing the designers effectively after obtaining all the necessary information from the client is a huge challenge. You can have some fantastic kick-off sessions but if communication breaks down with the designers then the project will have a significant number of revisions and amendments. Ultimately slowing down the end result.
After multiple concepts have been produced, getting the client to decide on one final concept to move forward with is the last remaining challenge of a branding project.
We commonly have favoured agency designs and these are very rarely the ones that end up being chosen as the final piece by our clients (which we absolutely welcome). Demonstrating how important ideation and planning sessions are.
We are really happy with the results of the Lacerta Sports branding project. Having successfully dived into the teams minds and produced four different concept designs. After further discussions a final design was chosen, with only two rounds of amendments.
The brand guidelines were produced to a high standard, with no revisions, to help aid the internal team members on how to use the branded assets on and offline.
We wish Lacerta Sports the best of luck with its future!
