The Case Study

Coopah is a virtual running coach app, built to help runners easily access training and find a community to engage with. The app’s unique features allow runners to create personalised training plans specific to their target race and time, whilst offering the flexibility to adapt sessions based on training data. 

Digital Playmakers were responsible for increasing Coopah’s brand awareness, driving client sign-ups and raising the profile of their product offering within their target market.

The Challenges

1. iOS 14 Impacting Tracking and Analytics

iOS 14 has brought about some major changes to its privacy features to give more control to its users. Apple’s new App Tracking Transparency framework ensures that all apps must request permission to track data. These changes have significantly affected advertising platforms such as Facebook and Google, making it difficult to trace which marketing efforts are working effectively.

2. Highly Competitive Market

Coopah’s industry sector of running apps is becoming increasingly saturated each year. With new brands flooding the market offering a very similar service. 

Consequently, ensuring Coopah standouts from the crowd, and communicating its added value effectively, was undoubtedly a big challenge for their marketing campaigns. 

3. Decreasing CTR's

Globally, click-through rates have dropped significantly across many digital ad platforms, due to users experiences becoming very similar and content consumption appears to be maturing across all platforms. In summary, it is becoming more difficult to capture peoples attention due to the sheer volume of content produced on a daily basis combined with the length of time users have now spent scrolling on the platforms.

The Results

Utilising strong video creatives, Digital Playmakers were able to generate significant app installs and new user registrations. With a social, search and app ads focus, Coopah’s values and mission were narrated effectively, encouraging runners of all abilities to become a part of a new community.
