Social Ad Ratios

The objective of any advert should be to capture the viewers attention and to give yourself the best chance of success you should aim to use up as much of the devices screen as possible, Here we detail the various recommended aspect ratios for mobile (where the majority of impressions take place) and each social placement and formats (see what the placements look like). This can be quite easy to get confused over so feel free to research further which placements support which aspect ratios.

Social Feeds:

  • It is recommended to use square 1:1 for images and vertical 4:5 for videos.
Social Stories:
  • The majority of people use their phone in its standard upright (vertical) position, therefore we recommend a 9:16 ratio, in order to capture the entirety of the screen.
Video Carousels:
  • It is recommended to use square 1:1 and you should ideally use the same ratio across all elements/assets of the carousel.
In-stream Video:
  • It is recommended to use horizontal 16:9 to fit the videos the ads are in.
Audience Network:
  • It is recommended to use vertical 9:16.
